River Dynamics is a software and services company focused on providing solutions that enable our clients to optimise the price performance of their service providers, and interact with them in a highly efficient manner.
Although service providers can account for a large proportion of an organisation's operational spend, very few companies have implemented systems to effectively manage their suppliers, and virtually none have mechanisms for ensuring that their suppliers perform at their peak. Traditional Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems have focused almost exclusively on goods procurement. These catalogue-based/auction systems are inappropriate for effectively procuring services.
Our supplier management and optimization system, Intelligent Supplier Management (ISM), is unique. It is the first system that intelligently allocates work to suppliers based on their (recent) historical performance in the areas of cost, quality, timeliness, and outcomes that are relevant to the purchaser.
In addition to intelligent allocation, ISM connects the purchasing company and their suppliers electronically to enable a highly efficient business process, ensure compliance, and provide much improved management information.
The business impact of ISM has been outstanding, with all clients achieving immediate significant improvements in supplier price performance. Improvements in supplier performance are directly correlated with the relative weightings that our clients assign to different performance measures (e.g. cost, timeliness, quality, business outcome etc.), so they receive the greatest improvements in the areas that are most important to them.
Consulting services are a crucial component of each ISM implementation. All of our implementations begin with a detailed analysis of the business objectives relating to supplier performance. We then follow a structured, proven methodology, to ensure that the system meets these requirements. Our best practice guidelines, based on experience from our implementations, are applied to all new clients.
As ISM is web-based, it can be implemented very rapidly (users only need an internet browser to access the system).
ISM can be hosted by River Dynamics so that our clients can deploy quickly, without the delays normally associated with internal system rollouts. Many of our clients utilise this service, which satisfies the strictest security and service level requirements. Alternatively, the system can be hosted in-house in our clients' data center.
