QBE
About QBE
The QBE Insurance Group is Australia's largest international general insurance & reinsurance group, and one of the top 25 insurers and reinsurers worldwide.
QBE Professional Indemnity Claims handles complex litigated professional indemnity claims and use smartAlloc to manage work allocated to lawyers.
QBE and smartAlloc
QBE went live with smartAlloc in Auguest 2005 with the business objectives of improving claims settlement outcomes and the cost effectiveness of lawyers.
I can see at a glance those firms who are performing best against my KPIs of cost, estimating accuracy and timeliness, and I can also see how firms have improved (or conversely deteriorated) in their performance over the last year. I am particularly thrilled that staff who were initially very skeptical about the smartAlloc system are now some of its greatest advocates, enthusiastically embracing the time savings and efficiencies it has provided. |

AAMI
About AAMI
AAMI is a leading Australian car, home and compulsory third party (CTP) insurer. Established in 1970, AAMI is now part of the Promina Group, a major force in Australian insurance. AAMI has more than 2.5 million policyholders.
AAMI and smartAlloc
AAMI was the first user of smartAlloc, implementing the system into the CTP division in January 2001. This proved enormously successful, and the system was extended to other divisions in July 2001.
Initially, the system allocated work to investigations companies. This has now been extended, and AAMI allocate work to over 15 discrete supplier types.
| The results have been outstanding. We closely managed our suppliers before we implemented the system, but with smartAlloc, we were able to rapidly reduce supplier costs by over 30% and reduce job durations by 35%. We have also improved service quality and can better manage the business. My claims staff and the external service providers love the system because it is easy to use and it makes their jobs so much easier. |
